As part of the registration process for our nonprofit educational summer camp, our staff programs, and our SMS messaging programs, we may collect the following information:

Medical Information: Details necessary for our medical team to reference in case of need (e.g., allergies, medications, medical history).
SMS Consent Information: When you opt into one of our SMS messaging programs, we collect your consent and the mobile phone number you provide for communication purposes.
Staff Expense Information: For staff members participating in our expense reporting program, we collect expense amounts, descriptions, dates, and receipt images submitted by the staff member.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Facilitate the registration process for camp attendees.
- Communicate with enrolled campers and their families regarding camp programs, schedules, and updates.
- Provide safe and appropriate medical care, if necessary.
- Administer program budgets and internal camp accounting.

3. SMS Messaging Programs
Participation in our SMS messaging programs is voluntary and requires your explicit consent. We operate two separate programs, described below.
3a. Camper and Family Messaging
How you opt in: Parents and guardians provide their mobile number and give written consent during camper registration.
Message Content: Messages may include camp updates, reminders, emergency alerts, or other important notifications.
Message Frequency: Frequency may vary.
Standard Messaging Rates: Message and data rates may apply as determined by your mobile carrier.
Opt-Out Instructions: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message.

3b. Staff Expense and Budget Messaging
Separately from camper communications, staff members of Congregation Bnei Chayil may participate in a staff expense reporting program.
How you opt in: Staff members provide their mobile number to camp administration during onboarding and sign a written consent form agreeing to receive messages related to expense reporting and budget status.
Message Content: Staff send expense amounts by text message and receive confirmation of the amount recorded along with their remaining program budget. Staff also receive one daily summary of their own budget status.
Message Frequency: Frequency varies with the staff member’s activity, typically one to several messages per day during the camp season.

Opt-Out Instructions: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any SMS message.

Expense information submitted by staff is used solely for internal camp accounting and is not shared with third parties.
4. Confidentiality and Data Sharing
Your information is held in strict confidence and is used solely for the purposes outlined above.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties or lead generators under any circumstances.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate our programs, such as our SMS delivery provider, solely to deliver the messages you have consented to receive. We may also share medical information with medical personnel where necessary for camper safety. These providers may not use the information for any other purpose.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable precautions to protect your personal, medical, staff expense, and SMS-related information. Our systems and procedures are designed to safeguard data from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal, medical, staff expense, and SMS consent information for as long as it is necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy or as required by law.
